One of the dirty secrets is that most of our troops come from Red States. Some will immediately say that this means Democrats are less patriotic, or claim that Republicans are less educated and as such unable to get real jobs. The fact is what it may say is meaning less, what it means for the US and our policies is all that matters.

The question: Will an all volunteer Army fight for Hillary?

Democrats have only them selves to blame - Not in failing to support the troops but that the far left of the Democratic Party have worked to make recruitment as difficult as possible. City's like San Francisco and States like Washington have work to block the Military from having the ability to recruit people for service. Virtually none of the Ivy League universities allows ROTC programs to exist on their campuses. You have the liberal view that the only reason to join the Military is that you are suitable for nothing else. In some liberal circles, it was joked that every dead Marine was one less vote for Bush. The ability to serve is restricted in many democratic (blue) regions. The net result is that mostly Republicans are joining the military. The day of the Citizen Solider is gone, being replaced with The Republican Soldier; with all the dangers that a politicized military brings.

With all spin aside the US Army is meeting it's recruitment requirements. We have a volunteer force and no draft. (Thank you Richard Nixon). One result is a Prussanistic professional Army. With a growing loyalty to one political party. Another result is a Military that is more religious a result of the Red State dominance in providing services.

So will a Republican Army fight for Hillary Clinton? Probably not.

Will they vote with their feet, and discontinue their service? If so a Hillary Presidency will HAVE to retreat from Iraq, not because it wants to but because it HAS to. President Hillary would be deprived the ability to commit troops if she ever needed.

Who's side would you rather be on?

I'm quite surprised at your lack of understanding of the military culture, especially given that you're a veteran.

I will begin with this. The US Marine Corps will be here, regardless of the newly elected Commander-in-Chief. We will do what the American public wants us to do, as we always have. Mr. Oceano, if the military men and women are tired of fighting this war, then they have not put enough effort and heart into their service. Every service member that I know, albeit, they may be getting physically tired from high op tempos and constant deployment, but we are not tired of fighting. We do what we signed on to do. As for the military fighting for Bill. Mr. Clinton cut the military funding so much that at one point and time, no one was sure if pay checks would arrive, because Mr. Clinton wanted to not sign a bill that involved our pay. The Navy Marine Corps relief society was put on standby in the event that the paychecks didn't arrive. So....on this topic, I say this. Let us hope that she is more intelligent than her husband.

Hillary will destroy the American military. Then she will go after the boy and girl scouts of America.

By the way, your little map isn't going to look like that in November 2008.

I think the military will be pleased to have a Commander-in-Chief who only puts them in harm's way when absolutely necessary. The military men and women I know are tired of fighting a senseless war, of risking their lives on behalf of a maniacal leader. The military fought for Bill, and they will fight for Hillary, when and if necessary.
