Are you an armchair quarterback when it comes to “Jeopardy?” It seems so easy, sitting in your underwear with a bowl of popcorn, answering every one of Alex Trebek’s questions like you were reciting your ABC’s. If your answers counted for real, you’d be a millionaire by now, right? So, why not apply to get on the show? Ask yourself…
Am I qualified?
1. Take and pass a 50-question written test (in Los Angeles)
2. If you pass, play a short version of the game ~ complete with buzzers!
3. Participate in a brief personality interview
There is no cost to apply or take the test, but any costs incurred in order to apply (transportation, hotel, meals, etc.) will be at your own expense. Most people go while on vacation or if they live in Southern California.
If you have not taken the “Jeopardy!” test online, you can register online at www.jeopardy.com/contestants_searchadults.php. Registration does not guarantee appointment, but applicants will be selected until all appointments are filled. If you are selected, you will be notified via email within one to six weeks prior to tryouts.
Am I eligible?
1. You must be age 18 or older (except for Teen, Kids and College tournaments)
2. You are NOT eligible if you have participated in any version of the show hosted by Alex Trebek.
3. You are NOT eligible if you have appeared on a game/dating/relationship/reality show in the last year, or if you have appeared on three game/dating/relationship/reality shows in the last 10 years.
4. You are NOT eligible if you are employed by, related to, or within the last 5 years known anyone who works for Sony Pictures Entertainment, Inc., King’s World Productions, Inc., Sullivan Compliance Company, or any television stations broadcasting “Wheel of Fortune” or “Jeopardy!”
Where can I audition? (Spring and Summer 2006)
1. Atlanta, GA
2. Chicago, IL
3. Los Angeles, CA
4. Minneapolis, MN
5. Orlando, FL
6. Portland, OR
