Use lotions and creams on your body after showering. This can help to moisturize your skin making it less dry feeling. Try and put lotion or cream on your skin daily for best results. And pick out a lotion or cream that will not break your skin out and that is gentle to use. Some lotions have been known to irritate your skin. Avoid these kinds of lotions and creams. There are certain lotions you can buy that are especially for dry skin. This is a good choice. During the winter months use a humidifier. This will help your skin to not get so dried out. Water is important to drink during the day to help keep your skin from drying out. Drinking water helps your skin from the inside because it hydrates your skin. So it is important to drink plenty of water.
Avoid using soap that can dry your skin. If you use soap try using a soap that is for delicate skin and that has moisturizers in it. There are a few of these on the market. You can also find skin cleansers that don't dry your skin out and that works good for dry skin. After you shower put on lotion to help keep your skin soft and smooth. Lotion is easier to rub all over your body then cream because it is not as thick. Dry skin can be painful if it starts cracking and then gets irritated. Sometimes dry skin can get flaky and red. Causing red dry patches on our face and body. We can do things to help our skin. These are just a few of the things you can do to help prevent getting dry skin.
