What They Claim
Mercadito prides themselves on their growing popularity among the East Village, and is quickly becoming a hot spot for many locals to enjoy a great and authentic Mexican meal. The range of the menu is almost as great as the difference between night and day, from entrees that will burn one's mouth out to others that even the mildest of eaters can enjoy. Just in case one can't get enough of the delicious food served here, Mercadito offers an "all you can eat" taco special on both Sundays and Mondays. If presented the opportunity, one should stop in and enjoy a plate of our terrific Mexican food.
If one thinks that the food is the only thing good here at Mercadito, they must have obviously never been inside this great restaurant. A low lighting presents the perfect mood for those who want to relax and escape the hardships of earlier in the day. The servers also do all that they can to create an inviting atmosphere, and group after satisfied group will happily attest to the fact that one was actually created. There are so many options at Mercadito, such as the cantina-like dining area, that one will surely love every minute of their time here.
What We Say
One should not come expecting the typical in way of Mexican cuisine, but should instead be prepared for exciting little twists and turns all throughout the menu. An example of this is how the freshly made guacamole arrives at one's table full of little chucks of pineapple in it. The shrimp seviche is probably the best entrée choice that one could make coming to Mercadito, however even the rosemary chicken tacos are too bad of a decision. Before one goes, they have to make sure that the order the baked oysters, which thus complete the perfect dining experience at Mercadito.
