Is America ready for a woman as president? I honestly do not believe so. That is my opinion. If Mrs. Clinton makes it all the way to president, more power to her. I am not one of those pig-headed men who think "Women are too emotional" or whatever red-neck excuse they have. My personal opinion is much more deep than some small phrase.

In my opinion, we as a country are not ready. The way people are in the United States, we would not accept it. It would be like if everyone was legally allowed to walk around nude. America would be enraged. We cannot deny this.

I am not going to pick on one group, but I will point out both sides. The men of America would retaliate with remarks such as "Too emotional", "should be in the kitchen", "That's a mans job" or "She would be to dumb and mess up our country" Let me be honest men, our country is on a rollercoaster. I do not believe women are dumb or emotional. Some are, and some aren't. Just as men are emotional or not, that is human nature. I am sure personally a woman would do just as well if not better than a man. But these remarks and outbursts would wreck the country, not the woman.

Now for the women's side. Some women I am sure would say "It's not a thing a woman of class would do." "That's a mans job." "She should know her place" and it could go on. Basically both sides of the tracks think on the same track. I honestly have no facts besides what I have heard about this, and I am not against a woman president, we just can not honestly look in the mirror and say ' our society is ready for a woman to lead'. Would be fantastic if we could, but face it, people are short minded.

Let me say, I am not saying we are all like this. I for one am not, my girlfriend either. But at least half of you reading this saying "Oh he is wrong, I am not like that" or "It's not that bad, he's crazy" probably are the biggest part of it. Admitting is half the battle.

Thanks for the comments :) I agree, she has no place being president for her qualifications. It just came to me how close this country might have been to having a female president, so I had to say something

Yes, that is typical for a cheated upon female (the wife is always the last to know, they used to say). Those two things together make her a poor risk as a leader. We need someone with the ability to think clearly, not blindly trust. And yes, there are still men that think a woman's place is in the home. But the younger generation has grown up seeing strong, independent females and they are less apt to view a woman as unfit for the job of Pres.

That said, she does not have my vote. She said in a recent debate the government has to lie to the citizens (I thought the gov was us, not us versus them) and said that the government has to make the people's choices for them, because they can not make choices "like that" (in regard to Health Care). Might as well call her GWB, Jr or Papa and Mama. She ignored Code Pink's ladies to use her position to end the war in Iraq. She also admitted that "we had false intelligence". She also said she believed Bill and was shocked when he confessed the truth about Monica.

I have asked around: What do you think Clinton would have done afte "9/11"? Not realizing she had already said she would find out who was responsible and go after them. The reason we should want a female is she might be prone to empathy and being a peacemaker not a warrior. War begets war begets war. She does have qualifications to be President and has even helped pass legislation I approve of (such as safeguards to end voter fraud). I admire her for standing up to Bush on the Dub port deal, making known the Bush family connection to the country.

Several countries, such as Ireland, have had female Presidents or Heads of States. They seem to do good jobs. As a woman of course I would love to see a female president. Looking at it through a smaller eye, I have had both male and female bosses, supervisors, managers and I don't which I dislike more. : > Prior to this election I did not do much thinking on the subject, but did wonder about PMS (Clinton is probably beyond those years), becasue truly our body chemistry changes monthly, causing mood swings.
