This basically contains 8 different compartments that are integrated into a single system. For those who do not know what a hydroponics system is let me explain. It is a myth that plants require soil for growth. The basic factors required for the plant growth is water, nutrients, minerals and oxygen. The purpose of the soil is to facilitate supply of nutrients and water through the root. Moreover the soil holds the roots of the plant firmly to the ground without causing any damage. In hydroponics the soil medium is replaced by water. So there is no need of soil in hydroponics system.
The Waterfarm 8-Pack Waterfarm 8-Pack Drip Hydroponics System too does not need any soil for plants growth. The most efficient mode of irrigation is the drip system. Hence it derives the name, Waterfarm 8-Pack Drip Hydroponics System from the water (hydro) medium and drip irrigation. The beauty of this system is that all the 8 separate Waterfarms are controlled by a single 13 gallon reservoir and the Standard 8 gallon Controller section. This kit contains everything needed to assemble a hydroponics system. Except fired clay pebbles and HydroKorrals everything else is provided in the kit.
