Have you recently visited your local meat department? I recently visited 3 major supermarket chains in the tri-city area meaning Newark, Fremont and Union City. What I found was a trend that has become quite disturbing with their meat departments. Now this does not occur in all of their chains but it happens all too often. In one store I was unable to find the cut of meat I was looking for. Now one would think this does not seem to be such a big hassle they're just out of it. It happens and you simply have to live with it. Besides you can just go to the supermarket that is across the street or to the one in the adjacent corner because they build these things everywhere. Then you find the cut of meat you're looking for and there are now two problems. One it's not on sale and two it looks like it has been sitting for a couple of days. It definitely doesn't look fresh at all. So you visit the third store only to find it's more expensive and the cut is too small or poor in quality. In fact it looks like someone packaged it with a similar cut to pass it off as a more expensive cut.

If this has happened to you then shopping somewhere else is definitely an alternative. You shouldn't however let them get away with this. Definitely ask to speak to a manager and bring your complaints to his attention. After all that's what he's there for so that we all can have a better shopping experience. Besides someone should be held accountable for this because it really is not acceptable especially when you're spending big dollars which are hard earned. Demand better service. If you do decide to buy your meat somewhere else I would suggest Costco. Not only are their prices usually competitive if not better they have an excellent selection, great quality and their only problem is that there are usually a lot of people in their store but it's probably for a good reason.
