The next time you have some left over wine you can save it by freezing it into ice cubes made of wine. When you have some left over wine pour the wine into an ice cube tray and put it in the freezer. After the wine freezes you will have wine cubes that can be used in many recipes that call for wine. Then when you want to use the wine cubes in a recipe just take out the wine cubes and let them melt. After the wine is melted you can add as much of the wine to the recipe as the recipe calls for.
Some casseroles and sauces have wine in the recipe so you can take out as much wine in cubes as you need for the recipe and let the frozen wine melt. After the wine has melted you can add it to the recipe.
On a hot day you can add wine cubes to some of your favorite cold drinks. The frozen wine will add some of its own flavor to the drink. Frozen wine can add great flavor to lemon aid or orange juice. You can even take the wine cubes and make freezes with them. Frozen wine can be a refreshing summer treat.
Frozen wine will last for months in a frozen cube state. It is best to cover the wine cubes with a plastic wrap or put the cubes in an air tight plastic container so that they do not develop freezer burn. Freezer burn can occur when food is frozen a long time and some of the flavor of the freezer actually gets into the food. If you have ever eaten something from the freezer that has been in the freezer a long time you will notice it has that freezer burn flavor. Frozen wine can develop that freezer burn flavor too so store your frozen wine in an air tight container and it will last a long time.
