FAIR Reports that America's Immigration Policies Are Inadequate and Invite International Terrorism

According to FAIR, (Federation for American Immigration Reform) a national, nonprofit, public-interest group whose membership consists of concerned citizens share the belief, immigration policy in th U.S needs to be reviewed. FAIR says that this is imperative for the security of the country. They also believe that the U.S immigration policy needs to be reformed to serve the national interest in general. America is still vulnerable to terrorist attacks as a result of its inability to track foreign visitors.

A 9/11 Anniversary Report fro FAIR states that there are still gaping holes in America's defense as far as the possibility of more terrorist attacks.

Per the report, gaps in our defenses have not been corrected because of special interest groups, which have a very strong interest in keeping the gaps the way they are.

The report also states that America's borders are not secure. Furthermore, we still don't have a way to track foreign visitors as to whether or not they leave America when they are scheduled to do so.

Radical Islamic groups are growing globally and the Visa Waiver Program is structured in such as way that foreigners are allowed to enter American soil without obtaining visas due to pressure from the tourism industry.

Dan Stein, President of FAIR, says that we haven't taken the necessary action to prevent another attack on American soil and there are flaws in our homeland security. Stein says that we have been fortunate that we haven't had a major terrorist attack over the past six years but we need to take action with regards to preventing another attack.

FAIR was founded in 1979 and has over 250,000 members. FAIR representatives testify regularly before Congress regarding immigration-related legislation.

FAIR's goal is to stop illegal immigration and improve the security of America's borders.
