Here we go again! It's always something else that is at fault. It's the people that make the mistake of not training this breed correctly, which then results in hostility, and now we just want to ban the breed all together. People never stop to think about all the good scenarios pit bulls are currently in with families and children and only focus on the bad situations with this particular breed. You never see on the news great stories about great pit bulls and their owners. You only hear the bad. I honestly feel sorry for this breed and we should be approaching the real problem at hand. I can't believe this breed is being euthenized with merely a blink of an eye for it's history. It's the peoples fault so wake up!

I personally have been a owner of a pit bull terrier. He was the gentlest dog I have ever had and he was a guppy around kids. Kids were his favorite thing I'm pretty sure and he couldn't get enough of them. When are people going to understand that this breed is not for just anyone and it needs intense training or there can be deadly consequences. But guess what, this is with ANY breed of dog. Another thing to point out is a lot of the so called pit bull attacks aren't pit bulls. It is very easy to confuse other breeds with a pit bull. I once took a test and had fifty dog pictures set out in front of me and I was supposed to point out the only actual pit bull out of all fifty dogs.

I couldn't do it and I'm a pit bull owner! It took me six tries to finally get the right pit bull. A lot of people don't even really know what a pit bull looks like. They associate a dog with a square head, square snout, and well defined muscles as a pit, but a lot of times they are wrong. Also, there are so many forms and mixed breeds of pits you can't blame strictly the pit breed anymore. I currently have a boxer and you wouldn't believe how many people have mistaken her for a pit bull. And I'm thinking are you kidding me! Boxer, pit bull are way two different things and with my trained eye I know there are huge differences, but to someone else they are one in the same.

Takeaways
  • I personally have been a owner of a pitbull terrier. He was the gentlest dog I have ever had
  • Why the people are at fault
  • This breed needs intense training

I agree, this isn't the dogs fualt, I do blame people who raise them like this, I am in grade eight and im writing a speach on banning of pitbulls, I hope you don't mind if I use your opinion in it, I'll say who it was from.. I think people should know the truth, and for the dogs that attack like this, it isn't only pitbulls, theres other dogs that do it and no one takes notice on that they mainly look at pitbulls and some times roties.
