Disneyland Resort Paris is truly a magical experience for children of any age. Last Thanksgiving when we spent a week there, it turned out to be one of the highlights of our European traveling. Sure, the weather was cold, though we did get to see the first real snow of the season. It did rain a little too and the park was prepared with yellow ponchos for sale at almost every store. Plus, people anticipate bad weather so it is not crowded and virtually no lines. Many of the employees speak English which makes for an incredible comfort if your French is not at its best. We had a fantastic experience and following are seven of the highlights of traveling to the most magical place on Earth during the late autumn.

Hotels. There are five hotels in the immediate area. We stayed at Disney's Newport Bay Club which was an absolutely fantastic experience. The entire hotel is decorated in a nautical theme with a seafood restaurant, buffet style restaurant, large gift shop, very friendly staff and in the mornings a live Disney character in the lobby for the children to see. The hotel was decorated in a classy holiday decor that made perfect backgrounds for family Christmas cards. It is at the end of the little lake and within walking distance to the park, though there is also a shuttle bus that frequents the front parking lot and takes passengers to the Disney Village. At the opposite end of the lake closer to the park, is Disney's Hotel New York which is beautifully decorated just like a classy New York hotel, complete with extra large Christmas tree to represent the one at Rockefeller Center. The next time we go, we will definitely stay in the Disneyland Hotel which is at the entrance to the park. Book early in advance for this hotel though since it seems to fill up quite fast. The Disney's Sequoia Lodge has a mountain lodge feel while the Disney's Hotel Cheyenne has a western atmosphere. Both of these hotels are located a little further from the park and a shuttle would be best for transportation.
