I read about Soy Joy Health bars in a magazine. They were touted as being revolutionary since they consisted of real sweet, dried fruit, Mangos, raisens,, almonds, coconut, berries. It all pretty sounded good. I decided to check out the site and came across an offer for a sampling and emailed in. My Soy Joy bars arrived soon after that.. I recieved a package with a sample of three of the flavors, Mango Coconut, Berries and Raisen Almond. I love Mango so I went for the Mango Coconut first. These are small dense bars with no frosting of any kind. The taste of this health bar had a definite hint of Mango but not enough in my opinion, I didn't get the Coconut flavor at all and there was a soy aftertaste that was very unpleasant.
The Soy Joy Bar measures 4" x 3/4" and are darker on top. The samples I received came with a $5.00 coupon towards 10 more bars which was very generous of the company. Looking at the bars you can see the chunks of dried fruit and when tasting you taste the raisens in the Raisen Almond bar. For me the Berries flavor was the best of the three and had no aftertaste of Soy. Like the other bars ,you could see the fruit. All three bars were pretty similar in consistency. The berries in the Berries bar are the Goji berry, Wolfberry and Hawthorne berry. I've never heard of any of these berries and I didn't taste any new , different flavor. This bar had a sort of date nut bread feel to it without the dates. All three bars that I tried talked about crunchy almonds I didn't find any of them very crunchy. The bars were more chewy in consistency than anything else. They also offer an Apple bar which I will try. It has walnuts in it but I'm guessing it's going to be pretty similar to the rest of them
