Strategies for Saving Money

The cost of living seems to be increasing all the time. Keeping up with bills and payments are a challenge for many American people. Saving money seems impossible and getting ahead financially never occurs for many. I have come up with some strategies that you can use to save money.

Take the money you would normally spend on something and place it in a piggy bank. When that piggy bank fills up invest it in some interest bearing account at your bank. These tips have helped me and I know will help you
 too.

Eat at home. This is especially a tip for people who like to eat out a lot. It is less expensive to buy foods from the grocery store and cook it at home. Many times you even have leftovers for the next day. For families who have children if you plan to eat out select restaurants that let kids eat free.

Order water when eating out. Purchasing drinks such as sodas and coffee can be very expensive. On average it cost three dollars for a glass of soda. Water is healthier for you and it doesn't cost a penny. If you don't like the taste of water asked for lemon. Squeezing lemon in the water can change the taste dramatically.

Keep leftovers. Don't just throw that last piece of bacon away. Put whatever leftover food you have in a zip lock bag and freeze it. You may want to eat later. One time I saved food from four days out of a week and made an entire meal for the fifth day.

Use unscented baby wipes to clean your home. Cleaning products can be very costly. Baby wipes do a wonderful job in cleaning the windows, mirrors, counters, tables and more. I also like baby wipes because they don't stink up the house like many cleaning products do.

Purchase store brand products. Store brand product uses the same type of ingredients as popular brand products do but at a less expensive price. I have bought facial cleansers, baby wipes, health products and much more at discounted prices.

These are all very good tips. I've never heard of using baby wipes to clean though, do they actually clean the bacteria off? I usually use Lysol all purpose cleanser for like everything!(i'm a little bit of a germ-0-phobe) I even clean the doorknobs, once a week!(at least)
