Being a mother I am always glad to see other things in my kids Halloween bags besides candy. In my house so much of the candy goes to waste sitting in the bag. Just think about it, kids usually hit any where from 50 to 100 houses on Halloween night. That is a TON of candy and of course cavities waiting to happen, not to mention for the person giving out the candy it can get pretty expensive. There are so many other things you can toss in a child's Halloween bag that is not only easy on the pocket book for you but also makes kids and parents very happy. Let's look at some ideas of things you can pass out for under $10.

Pencils

Pencils are always great since kids need them for school and if they care cute pencils the kids will love to take them to school the next day and show them off to their friends and teachers. You can pick up a pack of cute pencils at your local dollar store. Usually they come in packs of 10-20 pencils per pack. You can pick up enough for the whole night of Halloween for under $10.

Rings

Rings are always a huge hit with the kids. We give them out every year and the kids are usually wearing them before they leave my doorway. Spider rings are fun for boys and girls alike. You can also find large bags of the plastic spider rings at the dollar store. The spider rings usually come in colors like black, purple, orange and green. You should have enough spider rings to give out if you purchase 5-6 bags. Another idea for under $10.

McDonald's Treat Certificates

These are my kid's favorites. With these the kids receive a free ice cream cone or free bag of cookies at McDonald's. Now they may not save a parent from the sugar rush of candy but they do make for a nice treat after Halloween. These certificates come in booklets of 10 and the purchase price of one booklet is $1. Buying 10 booklets will give you 100 certificates to pass out and you only spend $10.

wonderful ideas! i had a few people when i was younger would always give me pretzels or apples... instead of candy... playdoh.. wow would have never thought of that... but instead of buying it there is a really easy homemade recipe for playdoh we used to make when i was younger...i'm sure they have it somewhere online now a days...

I saw the Play-Doh containers at Costco last week, and am thinking of using those instead of candy. Of course, I'm sure my husband will have other ideas. :)

Great ideas! I remember getting stickers as a kid or little mini boxes of crayons and enjoying them more than the candy!

Great ideas! We also like to give out those mini Play-doh tubs. The littler ones really love them!
