I have never been a wine drinker at all, but I am an avid reader and also a big fan of comedy. So, when two authors that I love, Lani Diane Rich and Samantha Graves, began doing a radio podcast called Will Write for Wine, I decided to check it out. I was not sure what to expect, but with Sam and Lani, I did not think I could possibly be disappointed.

Will Write for Wine, www.willwriteforwine.com, is an hour long podcast where Sam and Lani talk about different wines as well as the fiction writing process. The show is not only informative but absolutely hilarious! I have been fortunate on a few occasions to speak to both Sam and Lani and separately they are the nicest people, but together they are a blast. And, they are very knowledgeable about wine. Each week they try two different kinds of wine. Lani typically tries the less expensive wines and Sam goes for the higher quality wines. The ladies will tell the listeners where to find the wine, how it tastes, and how much it costs.

After Sam and Lani give their wine recommendations, the authors take reader and writer questions each week, so one week back in the beginning, I decided to send in a question. As a non wine drinker but realizing how much of a social event wine drinking is, I wanted to know what kind of wine would be good for someone who has never liked it. I've always thought wine had an oddly medicinal taste and really wanted to find one that didn't taste this way. Sam and Lani gave me some great suggestions, one being a Moscato. I bought it the same night I listened to the podcast and really, really liked it. It's sweet and fruity and doesn't taste at all like medicine, which is what I was most worried about. They also suggested three other sweet wines that I have not tried yet but will eventually test.
