Many people suffer from complications with their feet. These complications include dry flaky skin on the heels and toes, corns, and calluses, and tired, achy feet. Each year, people spend hundreds of dollars on expensive over the counter and prescription drug treatments to treat and prevent these common problems with the feet. There are many home remedies which are just as effective as over the counter and prescription drugs to treat these common problems with feet.

One of the most common problems people have with their feet is dry, cracked skin on the heels and toes of the feet. This can be caused by wearing shoes that are old, too small, or even too large for a person's feet. While there are many over the counter and prescription medications available for dry, cracked feet, a good home remedy for dry cracked feet is olive oil. Pour two cups of olive oil into a bucket of warm water. Mix the water and olive oil together. Soak your feet for ten minutes. Dry your feet thoroughly. After your feet are dry, gently rub away the dead, flaky skin with a pumice stone. I generally have to do this treatment at least two or three times a month on my feet

At the end of a day, many people complain of tired achy feet. Tired, achy feet are caused by walking during the day, or being constantly on your feet working during the day. Many people spend hundreds of dollars on pain relief medications and doctor's visits to relieve the pain of tired, achy feet. A good home remedy for tired, achy feet is to soak your feet in Epsom salt water. Pour one cup of Epsom salt into a bucket of hot water. Make sure that the water isn't extremely hot, but hot enough to be tolerable. Soak your feet for approximately ten minutes. When you finish soaking your feet, be sure to dry them completely. When you finish soaking your tired achy feet, you should wear a pair of thick socks, which provide greater support for your feet to alleviate stress from walking and standing on the feet for long periods of time. Soaking the feet in Epsom salts can improve blood flow in the feet, making them less prone to stress associated with physical exertion.
