Smoked Sausage by John Morrell is very easy to prepare. It is already fully cooked, which means it only needs to be gently heated through on the barbecue or in the frying pan. It is made from chicken, pork and beef hearts. It is skinless and extra tender, making it easier to prepare.

This is a brand of sausage that my husband and I buy on a regular basis because he especially likes the taste and flavour of this sausage, particularly after it has been heated through on the barbecue. The smoked flavour smells very appetising and it is tasty too. Each package of sausages comes in a pack of two, which is a net weight of 14oz and it costs $1.29, which is a reasonable price.

Smoked Sausage by John Morrell can be eaten in a variety of ways. It can be served with eggs and toast for a quick and easy breakfast, it makes a good sausage sandwich as a fast lunch and it tastes great heated through with cabbage as part of a main meal. The flavours infuse very nicely as the cabbage wilts down and as the fat coats the cabbage. A pinch of black pepper finishes off a simple, but tasty meal. I would say that the best way of serving this product is with cabbage as the two ingredients work very well together.

The nutrition facts clearly show that this is not a low fat or calorie food. Each serving is very high in fat and sodium. If you were to eat both sausages, you would be consuming 35g of saturated fat and 350mg of cholesterol!

However, there are simple ways to cut back on the high fat content of this smoked sausage product. When serving this smoked sausage, use just a small amount and increase the rest of the volume of your meal with vegetables and complex carbohydrates, for a more nutritious, well balanced meal.

I don't like sausage, but this is a great review! I'll have to pass it on to people I know who do actually like it.

I love smoked sausage. I'm not too wild about the beef variety because of the grease. So I usually boil it to remove some of it. :-D
