Vacations, though wonderful and arguably necessary, are costly, especially so when that vacation takes place in a wonderland of ongoing entertainment, like Orlando, or Kissimmee, Florida. One usually leaves home with a budget in mind and then, more often than not finds something unexpectedly interesting to invest in and ends up splurging. “After all, we’re on vacation”, as the cliché goes. And the “we only go on vacation once every two years” excuse works just fine, but back at the home sweet home and working the long sweet long hours to compensate for blowing the vacation budget, we sometimes have regrets.

i got suckered into Westgates crap. I got the 795 deal. made them pay though. They forked up 2 free vacations, 300 off a cruise AND Disney tickets all for shutting me to the Palace just because I was a single parent. they had no clue I wanted to buy for my NY and Colorado family to stay when they come to Fla. I am going to look to buy off the internet a points plan since I live in Fla and only take weekend trips. Lets see how that goes. Until then, I will keep getting the cheap 60 bucks deals!

I live in Florida and have gone to many timeshare tours. I've Gone to Westgate about 3 times. If you can do one at Celebrity Resorts, that one is the most easiest tour that you can do. They do not pressure you at all.

We own several timeshares and find the tours of other resorts interesting not to mention the freebies are a nice perk! Go with an open mind but be prepared to say "no" multiple times to different closers. Don't ask alot of questions, that prolongs the presentation. My only suggestion would be to avoid the Westgate group. Westgate takes you offsite which makes for a much longer presentation that they completely control. They have especially obnoxious high pressure sales people. Once you arrive at the resort for your tour, they also attempt to screen out those they think are not good prospects. Just know that you could invest an hour or so and still not get your $100 gift if you do not complete the tour. You have to get on that shuttle and view the property or you have wasted your time. There are plenty of reputable timeshare companies in Florida - from my experience that does not include Westgate.

Timeshares are an easy gig in 5 day you can make $500. timeshares are paying $100 a tour , my point is that i toured westgate yesterday and they are all ass@#@#, everything was sweet untill the last 15 min, bad bad tour the "supervisor of sale" after many offers, he went from asking for 6 thousand for dep to $49 dollars down, i told him NO, he told me to "fine, shoot yourself" i was in shock and the only reason i didnt react was because i was afraid i was not going to get my free $100. but after i received my money i left happy, ah and by the way the 90 min turned to be 2 hr plus. but hey free money i can do this for 2 weeks straight and make a 2 g, only 2 hrs a day. i can quit my job and still be ok . =)

I went on a Westgate tour, and was out in under 90 minutes. I could have afforded it--I just didn't want to shell out the money. It was very pleaseant and we all had a great time. (I bet Kinberly works for Westgate's competition). :)
