Senator Larry Craig Should Not Be Forced to Resign
Hypocrisy is Not a Crime
In almost every single case, the political figure retained his position, and in some cases, was even reelected to his office shortly thereafter. However, every single case that I have heard about over the last decade has one common element that is missing in the case of Senator Larry Craig. That element is an actual physical encounter between two persons.
Senator Larry Craig, though admittedly a fool for his actions and reactions in this case, never made any type of sexual contact, nor any type of true sexual innuendo in his brief encounter with this undercover cop. In fact, even if Senator Craig is guilty of using signals in an attempt to pick up another man, then he has done no more and no less than any other man or woman who has made gestures towards another person in a bar or other public place.
Is this illegal? Hardly.
In truth, I cannot tell whether Senator Craig has been leading a double-life as a hypocritical opponent to homosexuality. However, since when has being a hypocrite in Washington meant being forced to resign?
