I am AMERICA, The big brother of the world. All the worlds problems are mine because all of the world is my responsibility.

This is what I think of when I imagine how the American government as a whole thinks.

I also, am AMERICA. I am a citizen amongst many and we the people, that the government works for do not all think this way or support our governments way of thinking in this respect.

I understand that the American government feels that it should be in Iraq to establish a front for TRUTH, JUSTICE and THE AMERICAN WAY. They want to stop terrorism, dictatorship, oppression and play its role in the global community.

What I don't understand is why war seems to always be the final option and sometimes it seems, the only option, to bring about change. Protecting the morals of the societies of earth should be easier to do than war is.

I believe that under no circumstances, except self defense, is war ever a viable solution to any problem. War is definitely not a solution to issues that stem from the problems in other countries. When our country has so many issues of its own, why do we continue to ignore them and concentrate on the issues of others. Yes I know that we are all connected but does the means justify the end in today's world?

The world must take a stand but the world should also be careful in throwing the first stone.

Below are my top 10 reasons for hating the war in Iraq and my contribution to the denouncement of war in any shape or form except as stated above for self defense.

1. War is dumb for any reason.

2. War creates a loss of life.

3. War creates a loss of property.

4. An overabundance of resources are used and lost in war time.

5. Peace is obviously lost when there is a war.

6. Humanity in general takes a nose dive when war is prevalent.

7. Broken families or separated families result from war.

8. Broken societies and cultures are victims of war.

9. Abusive governments are expelled and replaced by other abusive governments.

10. Financial debt on all sides skyrockets unbelievably because of war.

One of the worst articles on A.C. She should not be allowed to write, much less to think. Everything she says makes no sense and it reaps of liberal nonsense.

Well, being a veteran and all, maybe you need to better understand the issues. War and peace are not seperatable. That is a part of the life and death struggle. War is between the good and the bad. Try to look at it that way. I am for the war.

Ah they cut me off... EIGHT: I love other cultures, but tearing someone's tongue out and letting him bleed to death, or showering someone in water and then ellectrocuting them; those are traditions the world can do without. NINE: I'm sorry, but that's just plain not true. Look at America's involvement in WWII, or the Revolution. TEN: I'm willing to spend a few bucks, if the result is a free nation.

ONE: True, war is immature. But Saddam wasn't about to play nice. Next time he should heed our warnings. TWO: The war in Iraq is not causing loss of life, it is simply taking the spotlight off the Iraqis, and placing it on soldiers who are willing to fight and die for their fellow man. THREE: Yes, loss of property sucks. But if i lived in Iraq, i'd be all too willing to sacrifice a few material possessions in order to be free of dictatorship. FOUR: The only consolation i get in paying taxes is hoping that they'll be spent on saving Iraqi lives. FIVE: Peace? There was no peace to begin with. Saddam was torturing and killing his own citizens, and the point we are at is the closest to "peace" that that nation has seen in decades. SIX: Only because we are split over whether or not it's "right." Other than that, i just disagree: i don't see it. SEVEN: If you're referring to American families, they all went willingly. If you're referring to Iraqi families, they're better off than ever. EIGHT

I feel the same way, Shinelle. It would be a wonderful utopia if we could stop the wars around the world. Or the war in Sudan. Or the countless wars in addition to the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. Or even stop the wars in the neighborhoods. Just one week in philly recently about 12 young people were shot to death in street conflicts in just one 48 hour period. I just read this morning in the newspaper that 600,000 Germans civilians were killed in the just a month of WWII bombing and that 75,000 were children under the age of 14. That was the response to the night bombing of the civilian populations of London in which thousands more were killed in an unprecedented Nazi attack on civilian populations.
