Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) has been used to describe situations in which the occupants of a building will experience acute health, along with comfort effects that seems to be linked with the time spent in a building. Complaints from either the tenant, employee, teachers and students may be localized in a particular room or portion of the building, all though it can be widespread throughout the building. All though today in doing my research, there doesn't seem to be any one specific illness or cause that can be identified to SBS.

Symptoms that can be associated with SBS are:

* eye discomfort
* nose and throat irritation
* dry cough
* dizziness
* nausea
* dry itchy skin
* fatigue
* headaches
* sensitivity to odors
* increased asthma attacks or even the appearance of asthma in non-asthmatics

The relationship is often particular to the time that is spent in the building that suggests this possibility of a person experiencing "Sick Building Syndrome".

Some of the causes of Sick Building Syndrome could be:
* Indoor air pollution
* Fragrance
* Poor ventilation (HVAC)
* Mite or Microbial contamination or growth
* Furnishings
* Chemical or biological contamination

As always, if you think you are experiencing the signs and/or symptoms of Sick Building Syndrome, consult with your physician, specialist and/or expert in the field. The information that is listed here is just for that purpose in hopes that as one of the illnesses that can be caused from toxic molds "Sick Building Syndrome" will be more recognizable in the public, medical, and political arenas.
