Women love the thought of a big nice garden with plenty of fresh, ripe fruits or veggies. You will save a lot of money by growing your own food. You can even plant pumpkins and save money during October as well. During the summer months you will probably not have to buy any fruits or vegetables. Is all this work worth saving the money? To some people it's more than saving money, it's living healthier. We know that our plants weren't sprayed with pesticides to keep the bugs away. We know what goes on with our gardens.

If you have a garden you need to have it in an area with a lot of sun. Now this means that your plants will dry up very fast and you will need to spend a lot of time watering the plants to keep them moist. Your vegetables and fruits will be a lot more crisp and they will also be bigger the more you water them. For example, you can't plant a watermelon seed and expect the sun to do all of the work. Watermelons are made up of 95% water and they need a lot of water to grow to their full potential. You might even spend more on water than you save on vegetables and fruits.

Gardens are a lot of fun however. It's nice to go outside and see which things have popped up. All of a sudden you see a baby watermelon starting to form. You watch your pumpkins as they get bigger and bigger.

To start out the garden each year is a lot of work. You need to rake through the dirt and get the soil nice and moist. You need to plant plants and seeds and keep them far enough away from each other. You need to make sure you plant them at the right time. You need to keep the bugs, rabbits and other things out of your garden or they will be eating for free. You can perhaps put up a fence to keep rabbits out but as far as bugs you will need to do different things for each bug. You don't want the bugs eating all of your fruit.

All this work is worth it once you bite into one of your masterpieces. You can also now grow plants indoors such as tomatoes and lettuce. They are coming up with new devices each year to help you with gardening. Enjoy those fruits and veggies!
