The Pink Dolphin - Boynton Beach, Florida

The Pink Dolphin is located on Congress Avenue in Boynton Beach Florida. Owned and operated by Florida resident Heathh R Chute, The Pink Dolphin has been thriving since 2003. The Pink Dolphin is an upscale bar, as the name suggests the most common decoration is the bar is pink dolphins. This gives two impressions, first you might think this looks like the decor a six or seven-year-old girl would choose for her bedroom. After closer inspection you will recognize this is in fact a gay bar.

I am not a homosexual, so I found the Pink Dolphin to be scary and creepy. How this bar became so upscale and popular is lost on me. However there are a lot of residents and visitors of Florida who are gay. I tried to be open-minded while I was visiting the Pink Dolphin while on vacation. One of my most dear friends is in a homosexual relationship. As The Pink dolphin is his favorite bar, I hesitantly agreed to accompany him there for drinks.

The staff is nice and very out of the closet. When I explained that I was not a lesbian, they laughed at me and teased me in a good-natured way. I decided while I was sitting at a small table enjoying a Cosmo to write a review of the place. It occurred to me that naive tourists could consider this place to be a gift shop or something. South Florida does see a lot of foreigners who could not know a gay bar by name.

The Pink Dolphin is nicely decorated despite all of the pink dolphins. The bar is clean and dimly lit. The drinks I consumed were splendidly mixed and affordably priced. They were also quite strong. After I was into my third cosmos I loosened up considerably and began talking with the owner Heathh R Chute.

Heathh came to Florida from San Francisco in 2001. He dreamed of opening his own gay bar, after frequenting a lot of not so nice places. " I want people to be able to relax and pursue love or hook ups in a lovely non threatening location," Heathh gushed to me." I feel I have accomplished my goal with the Pink Dolphin. Love or meaningless sex awaits you here!"
