This year's Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series will be awarded to one of the following shows: Entourage, The Office, 30 Rock, Two and a Half Men, and Ugly Betty. Five great shows, all with strong followings on both network and cable. Which one will win?

Entourage has aired on HBO since July 2004. It follows the rising acting career of Vince Chase. He's brought his childhood friends to Hollywood with him and together they deal with the good, the bad and the ugly that life in the fast lane can bring. This show can be funny. It can be harsh. It can be shocking. It is on HBO after all. Great show, but not an Emmy winner this year. To me, its humor is very "alpha male". Its characters are all small-time young men who suddenly hit the big time and don't always leave their crudeness behind. To be expected but not always as appealing in my mind. Not really my kind of show. But it works for many.

Two and a Half Men airs on CBS and has been on since 2003. It is about Alan and his son Jake who, because of an impending divorce, move into bachelor brother Charlie's house. Hilarity ensues when Charlie tries to continue his wild bachelor lifestyle around his uptight brother and young nephew. The brothers also deal with each other, their mother, and a host of other issues surrounding raising a young boy and each other. This show has gained a great deal of popularity, but it is not my style either. While funny, it can border on inappropriate. Bachelor antics just don't seem right when there is a kid in the story - especially when it's an impressionable boy. So no Emmy for this comedy.

30 Rock premiered on NBC this past fall with anticipations high. It's the brain child of Saturday Night Live's Tina Fey (among others) and follows her life as the head writer of an SNL-type show. This show seems to be an acquired taste for many. Its over the top characters and quirky humor make for great comedy but it takes some getting used to. This show has a great shot at the Emmy despite its low ratings to this point. It offers quality writing and quality comedic acting.
