Decorative throw pillows for your home can be very expensive and it can take a lot of searching to find store-bought pillows that match with your decor. A great way to get pillows that match your decor perfectly and cost a lot less than the decorative pillows that you can buy at the store is to make your own. Many people think that making a pillow would be difficult because they don't know how to sew. The great thing about making the type of pillows shown here is that you don't need to sew to make them. If you can use an iron and a pair of scissors you can make these pretty throw pillows for your own home.

Here's what you'll need to get started:

A pillow form
Enough fabric to cover the pillow form
A sharp pair of scissors
Straight pins
Heat bonding tape (available at most craft and fabric stores)
An iron
A measuring tape

The first step in making your no sew pillow is to measure and cut your fabric. You should measure your fabric to the size of the pillow form plus a 3/4in. seam allowance on each side. You can either use the same fabric on both the front and back of your pillow, or you can use different fabrics so the front of the finished pillow is different than the back. Once you have cut your fabric you should iron it to remove any wrinkles.

Next place your cut pieces of fabric with the right sides together. The "right side" of the fabric is the side that you want to show on the outside of the pillow. Pin the pieces of fabric together inside of your seam allowance. Next cut a strip of the bonding material to the length of one side of the pillow. Place the cut piece of bonding material between the two pieces of fabric in one of the seam allowances along any edge of the pillow. Be sure that your iron is set to the correct temperature for the bonding material that you're using and then iron the seam to bond the two pieces of fabric together. Repeat this process on two more of the edges of the pillow. When you are done you should have three of the edges of your pillow sealed and one of the edges open.
