A cook at McDonalds in Union City, Georgia was arrested and charged with reckless conduct after a "salty" hamburger was sold to a white Union City police officer.

The officer came threw the drive thru, placed his order, received his order and left. He came back later and accused the cook, a black female, of over salting his food. He then radioed for backup and arrested the cook. The cook, Kendra Bull, told Fox 5 Atlanta that she over salted some of the meat by accident, but believes that the police officer went way too far by arresting her.

The Union City police officer said in his report that the burger made him sick and that he believed the meat had been intentionally over salted. The officer along with 2 other police officers took pictures of the "salty burger" and then took the officer in question to the hospital.

Bull spent the night in jail before being released on a $1,000.00 signature bond. The public defender went before the judge and asked that the charges be dismissed. The judge denied his request stating that Bull might not have over salted the food on purpose, but that it was with reckless disregard that she allowed the excess salt and pepper to be added to the food.

Bull opted for a jury trial. Neither the Union City Police Department nor McDonalds had any comment.

I heard about this one. Apparently he the arresting officer had to make an arrest quota or something. Sad truly sad.

Why was this pig (police officer) ordering beef in the first place? Well, at least he didn't taser the young lady before he arrested her.

This is ridiculous!!! This world is going backwards. We have the Jena 6 going and as if that isn't enough, now whe have people being arrested for over salting a hamburger. Come on...how many times have we eaten out and our food was not prepared to our individual satisfaction? Does that warrent an arrest for everyone? I don't think so. Racial issues are growing again and I guess people won't be happy until all the African Americans are behind bars. Get a grip! Fast food will make you sick and kill you anyway if you eat enough of it. So who needs to help it out by adding extra salt? Yeh, stupid, I know. Some people need to grow up and stop throwing around authority and position.

This is definitely a case of an over zealous cop. I don't think race is an issue here. I don't understand why there is so much reverse discrimination around the metro Atlanta area, in my opinion. Everything that goes wrong or happens, isn't related to someone's skin color. Unfortunately unfair things just happen, no matter what your skin color.

He was in the drivethru... she had no idea who it was going to. Therefore there was nothing intentional about the incedent... the most that should have happened was a job reprimand, and if done again, firing.

That is sooo stupid, what ever happened to common sense. Too much salt would only make him sick if he ate the whole burger...one bite and I'd spit it out and toss it in the trash. So the cop was out $2.

Insane. K Ray said it: too salty, take it back. If there were ants crawling in the wrapper would he have ate that too? Too bad females have no power and we can not force him to undergo psychiatrict treatment like they used to force upon females in days goneby. Even if she did intentionally oversalt his burger, it is not a charge provable in court. How could she even see him at the drive thru window? I do hope she can sue him and the city. Simply insane.
