I can remember as a child, free samples randomly came through the mailbox a few times a year. Everyone in the neighborhood got one and the samples didn't come often. You might also be able to grab a doughnut hole if the bakery at the grocery story was giving away samples.

Boy, how things have changed! I love getting free samples and, thanks to online sites and manufacturers, I can try out virtually every product before I buy it. This week alone, I received 12 samples through the mailbox. These included Knorr's side dishes, a couple of shampoo samples, some aquafresh tooth brushes and even a good-sized bag of Iam's cat food. By spending only 10-15 minutes online each day, you'll begin receiving samples, tool. Going to the mailbox will no longer be a drudge of gathering bills, but actually seeing what small gifts that have been left.

With just a few clicks, you'll mail carrier will bring everything to your mailbox...shampoo, toothpaste, food, etc. I've received bathrobes, underwear and even printer cartridges by signing up for free samples. Here's the information most freebie offers request: name, address, e-mail. Sometimes, they ask for a phone number but it's usually optional. In ten years of being a freebie-addict, I've never been spammed by a freebie company.

Begin your sampling hobby, by registering at the Web sites of manufacturers whos products you use regularly. Proctor and Gamble, along with all their subsidiaries like Olay, Crest, etc., have a place for consumers to sign up to receive news and product samples. You may just get the samples from that initial registration. Later on, the company might send you an e-mail announcing new products and giving subscribers the opportunity to request samples.

Takeaways
  • American manufacturers send out over $1 million worth of samples for every product launch.
  • Samples range from one-use packets to full-size bottles.
  • You'll soon have more samples than you know what to do with.
Did You Know?
During the last year, I have received an average of three samples everyday.

i get free samples sent to me and most of them have coupons for the product. I had wal-mart to send me a sample of their latest detergent, tide with baking soda, it was great and the coupons helped me to purchase the product at a cheaper price. I loved this article and I about to check out the other links in it. Thanks for the heads up, with five children, I can use all the frugal help that I can get.

Also, if you don't like samples, you can pass them on to homeless shelters. Just a thought. They always need supplies and can't carry large containers around with them as they move from shelter to shelter (many shelters have time restrictions). Eventually, most families find work and homes again but until then, soap, conditioner, shampoo, hand lotion can make a world of difference!

Yes and and automatic freebie? Every time a team steals a base during the World Series ANYONE in America, whether they were at the game or not, can get a free taco at Taco Bell. The first ones are being handed out Oct 30 as someone already stole a base.

Good tips, from a fellow freebie junkie. I'm using some of the items I've collected for our Soldier's Angels Christmas project. They are small enough to ship and offer a change from military issue shampoo, toothpaste, deoderant, etc...

Great article! I love freebies too, I sign up for just about everything. I've heard of fatwallet.com but have never visited the site. Now that I have an idea of what the site is, i'm going there right now!

Who doesn't love a mailbox full of samples? Also, they make for great traveling companions. Now, all I need is the trip to go along with my free samples. Nice article.
