Call center is the fastest growing industry in the Philippines. Today, many people are taking their time and exerting efforts to pursue a career in this promising field. This country is considered to have a higher percentage when it comes to poverty and that is the main reason why a lot of young and older people in different societies grab this wonderful opportunity.

But not all people know that call center is quite stressful not just because of the irate callers that you may normally receive. It was proven that a lot of customer service or technical support representatives have encountered too much stress resulting to health problems. Some of their operations are 24x7 and as an employee, you have to bear the unusual schedules that these companies may offer. This industry provides higher compensation and great benefits. Most people in our country think that working as a call center agent is just a waste of time and it will not provide you the necessary growth. In my opinion, it will rely on how you look at it and every job has its own pros and cons. It depends on how you work to achieve your goals in the company or how you work well with others.

In my current experience working as Technical support representative, I have realized that you cannot please everyone and it also entails a lot of sacrifices because you still have to come to work during holidays and that sometimes hurts me as an agent. Aside from working graveyard shifts, if the company asks you to stay and work. Well, you need to tell your family that you cannot be with them during a special gathering. And for me, that is a great sacrifice after all.

The advantages of working in a call center industry are:

1. Higher pay
2. It promotes career growth
3. It allows you to explore opportunities in the company.
4. It makes you a good conversationalist

There are a lot of outsourced companies like a call center nowadays. The reasons are low cost of labor, people here speak good command of the english language and most Filipinos are courteous.
