In this guide I will show you how to create Thanksgiving Math Worksheets for your little one using Microsoft Word. The holidays are coming up and being a homeschool parent I know my kids like to have holiday themed worksheets around the holidays. Sometimes you can't always find that worksheet that you need. So why not create your own. You can create worksheets in Microsoft Word in just a few easy steps. In this guide I will use addition as my example. But you can use what you need to create the worksheets.

The first step to creating the Thanksgiving math worksheets is finding some free Thanksgiving clipart to insert into the page. So go ahead and find some clipart to use. I got my Thanksgiving clipart from this site. If you do not like this clipart, simply go to Google or whatever search engine you use and search for Free Thanksgiving Clipart. That should return with a lot of graphics and clipart that you can use. Save the clipart on your computer.

The next step is to open your Microsoft Word program. When it opens go ahead and type a place at the top for the child to type their name and the date. Then press enter a couple of times to skip a couple of lines. Next, we will insert a table to work with. The table will keep the math problems separated and will allow us to easily insert the Thanksgiving graphic. Go to the top of the window and click Table > Insert > Table. Enter 4 columns and 5 rows. Then click OK.

You can place the graphic anywhere on the page that you want. I will place mine at the top right corner. To do that, I am going to merge two cells together. So, go ahead and highlight the two cells at the top right. Then right click on them and click Merge Cells. That will turn those two cells into one. Now we can insert our Thanksgiving graphic.

Click inside the cell that you just merged. Go to the top of your window and click Insert > Picture > From File. When the window opens, locate your graphic and click Open. That will insert the graphic into the cell.

Now you are ready to type your math problems into each square. Once you are finished typing your problems, you can hide the table so that when it prints you won't see it.

Great instructions. I also enjoy creating worksheets for the kids myself. :-)
