You can cut up vintage leather jackets and old leather jackets to make leather tabs and leather tie backs for you existing home curtains. Leather tab top curtains look great in vintage home décor settings a s well as bachelor pads and contemporary home design
To make your own homemade leather tabs to accent your curtains all you need to do is cut out strips of leather form your old leather jacket. Cut these strips about two to three inches wide and anywhere from five to ten inches long.
If you cut your tabs ten inches long you can tie them to existing curtains and curtain rods to create tabs. If you cut shorter leather strips you can use grommets or your sewing machine to sew them to the tops of your curtains.

Strips of old leather jackets also make great dining room table top accessories. Who said the only leather you could use in your dining room is a leather dining room chair? Use pinking sheers to cut out strips of leather that are two inches wide and five inches long.
Now, use a metal button or dark colored vintage button to sew the strip of leather fabric into a loop. You will need a metal upholstery needle to do this.
You can use this simple loop as a leather napkin ring or even a leather curtain tie back in yoru dining room.
Be sure to use pinking sheers to create a cool edge on the leather strips.
