1. What do you expect of an employee?
I expect employees to be loyal to the office. I also expect an employee to be a hard-worker, on time and prompt, efficient, and probably the most important attribute being honest.
2. How important is it for an employee to have good attendance on the job?
Personally, I believe that an employee should only miss work when absolutely necessary. People count on you and when you do not show up, it hurts the flow of the work that the office has. Since this is a law office, when we get behind, we set the court behind.
3. List at least three good qualities an employee should have.
In order of importance: Prompt. Ability to work by oneself and find work to do without being told. Honesty.
4. List at least three bad habits an employee should avoid.
It personally makes me very aggravated when I see an employee texting and talking on his or her cell phone while on the clock. Also, playing on the computer and doing school work while at the job is not fair to the business. Finally, anything that distracts the employee from doing his or her job should be avoided.
5. In what ways does attitude affect an employee's job performance?
When an employee has a good attitude he or she is productive. When an employee has a bad attitude...it's a very uncomfortable situation.
6. Define employee loyalty.
I define loyalty to the workplace as going the extra mile to get work done.
7. How are employees expected to dress while on the job?
At the Harlow Law Firm, I request that my employees dress business casual.
8. How can having courteous employees in the workplace benefit the business?
It looks really good for the business. Customers and clients feel secure and waited on.
9. What should an employee do after finishing an assigned job?
He or she should look for something else to do without being told.
10. For what reasons would you fire an employee?
Not showing up, breaking confidentiality, this is a law office, and stealing.
11. Describe the perfect employee.
One that has initiative, willing to learn, and grow.
12. How important is teamwork at your workplace?
