Poor Nations Can Get Electricity and Water Inexpensively
Power Generation Stations and Water Companies Are Not the Only Source for Electricity and Fresh Water
When these battles begin, very soon, villages and large cities often quickly lose their access to both electricity and water--and sewage disposal. While multimillion dollar systems are common methods in large nations to provide these services to its "richer" residents, much less expensive methods exist to provide water, sewage disposal and electricity.
Those how live in industrial societies have heard of PHOTOVOLTAIC cells; slim metal layered SHEETS that absorb direct sunlight and with conversion components, provide usable electricity [or, DC, sun direct, to AC, house current.]
While industrial nations use very inexpensive processes to provide power for tens of millions of people at one time, photovoltaic, per watt of output, is more expensive than large plants output of electricity, at least the photo voltaic cell sheets can be put most anywhere and begin to start working immediately as long as the sun is shining.
Since many nations in "3rd world areas" have no electricity at all, getting power between 8-12 noon, and 2-6 pm would be acceptable limitations. Cell sheets could be installed throughout a city or remote village almost instantly often bringing power to areas that had never had electricity previously.
Water can be provided in small quantities by power drill equipment or by installing, at different intervals, water desalinization plants that could be as little as 15 cu feet. With dozens of these plants, photo voltaic powered, and long pipes with pumps, water could be brought to any village or city almost instantly as long as mayors, kings, despots and premiers do not prohibit same. With the corruption that does exist, the rulers may require fees greater than a village's capability to pay.
lastly, it is sad that the process of cleaning sewage as is done in industrial nations is almost unheard of in poorer nations, yet the negative consequences
to health seem ignored.
