who are afflicted with breast cancer. We are happy to participate."

Pilates is an exercise regime designed by Joseph Pilates in the early 1900's to build body awareness, flexibility, balance, posture , core strength, breathing and endurance. The six basic principles of Pilates are: Centering, Concentration, Flowing movement, Control, Breathing and Precision. Although Pilates equipment workouts offer variety, and added resistance, Pilates mat routines can provide a challenging workout, based on the dynamics of body weight and gravity.

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation raises and deploys millions of dollars annually toward research initiatives to find a prevention and a cure for breast cancer. Their aim is to move funds into the hands of researchers more quickly than government agencies are able to. BCRF is on target to raise $34 million in 2007, in part due to programs, like Pilates for Pink. 85% of all funds raised by BCRF go directly to directly to breast cancer research grants and awareness programs.

Stephanie Wright, Catie Cacci, Desi Ray, and Maggie Parker, all certified Pilates trainers, will teach the Pilates for Pink classes at regularly scheduled times, with all procedes going to the BCRF. Castle Hill also offers group reformer classes, cardio pilates, personal Pilates training, and Pilates-based cross training sessions.
