What is the biggest threat facing Americans today? If you go strictly by the money, it is by far the treat of a terrorist attack by someone currently living in Iraq. More money has been spent by Pres. Bush to protect us from terrorists living in Iraq than has been spent on any other threat to your health. Psst...wanna hear a secret? According to the National Center for Health Statistics, death from a terrorist act isn't even in the top 15 of leading causes of death in America. I would guess it's probably not even in the top hundred and never has been. Pres. Bush's only claim that is still capable of ringing true is that he is making us safer. But from what? By far, more Americans will die from suicide this year than a terrorist attack-not counting those soldiers needlessly in harm's way. Where is the unlimited tank of money being spent on improving mental health care in this country? Why does Pres. Bush go out of his way to make it harder to get affordable prescription medications that might just possibly reduce the number of people who choose to kill themselves or others? Pres. Bush and his GOP and Democrat cohorts who are comfortably inside the pocket of big American pharmaceutical companies have made it illegal to buy less expensive drugs from outside the U.S. Instead, we are held hostage to the collusive nature of the drug industry who make sure every drug sold in America is at the optimal level for profit.
