i used comet, with a sponge that has scrubber material on one side (the kind you use to wash dishes). it worked. i have an older popup with beige canvas and wasn't too worried about discoloring- anything is better than those black mildew spots. really didn't discolor - just try a test spot first.

Just tried both methods on a pair of home-made curtains: Rubbing alcohol and water did basically NOTHING! did not notice a change at all. Tilex Foam and Tilex with bleach both did the same job; Stains are gone but so is the color of the material. My case is not so bad, it was a light material to begin with. But they would have been trash if I did not get the dark mold out.

My father used Tilex. That worked swell. I remeber being young and the smell.

I have black mold on my convertable top to my Firebird - it looks horrible and I am ashamed to drive it. I've tried multiple things that have not worked. Can anyone and everyone tell me what has worked for them? Thanks - Denise
