Have you ever thought maybe you should start eating better? If only for your health? Me too. Several years ago I stopped into a Whole Foods store and was wowed by all they have to offer. From organic fruits, vegetables, meats and dairy items to pre-packaged natural and organic foods, they have everything you need to take the plunge and try a product or two. By sampling one or two products you can see if healthier fare is something you and your family will enjoy... or at least tolerate. If you discover you are able to develop a taste for natural and organic products, you can gradually start to increase the number of wholesome foods you toss into your grocery cart. One of the easiest transitions for my family was found by trying Back to Nature Classic Rounds. Following is a comparison of Nabisco's Ritz Crackers to Back to Nature Classic Rounds for those of you who have yet to try healthier options for yourselves. Although Back to Nature Classic Rounds are not organic they have no hydrogenated oils, no artificial preservatives and no artificial flavors or colors. Following is my comparison of five different attributes:

Appearance:
The Ritz cracker is almost 1/3 bigger in size overall. Both Ritz and Classic Rounds have seven pinholes and their color, shape and texture is almost identical, right down to the crimped edges!

Nabisco Ritz Crackers allow 5 crackers per serving. The total fat per serving is 4.5 grams and the saturated fat per serving is 1 gram. There are 0 grams of cholesterol, 135 milligrams of sodium, 10 grams of carbohydrates, 1 gram of sugar and 1 gram of protein per serving.

Back to Nature Classic Rounds allow 5 crackers per serving. The total fat per serving is 2 grams and there is no saturated fat per serving. There are 0 grams of cholesterol, 150 milligrams of sodium, 11 grams of carbohydrates, 1 gram of sugar and 1 gram of protein per serving.

Price:
A 12 oz. box of Ritz crackers runs approximately $3.00. An 8.5 oz. box of Back to Nature Classic Rounds is approximately the same price at $2.99. More often than not, natural and organic products are more expensive.
