The safety of our children at all times is of utmost importance in any parent's life, and who can argue that it has been proven that car seats save lives. Car seat facts for parents to be aware of:

• Four out of five children are not correctly buckled up while riding in a car
• For children aged 1-9, motor vehicle accidents are the number one cause of death
• It was discovered that 75% of crash-related deaths and serious injuries can be prevented by the proper usage of a child restraint on every trip

Common errors in car seat usage consist of:

• 25% of infant car seats were not installed as rear-facing
• 27.5 % of forward-facing car seats were not tethered properly
• Less than 20% of all car seats checked overall were correctly installed
• For children aged 5-9, car seat restraint usage was lowest. It was discovered on roadside checks that only 51.6% of children were buckled up at all.
