In the midst of turmoil and tragedy we often question the Lord and if He's moving on our behalf. We wonder if we are praying enough or if we are praying the right way. Are we being disobedient? And if we are, is this why God is not responding to us? Could we actually be hindering His movement?

I have had these thoughts in times of despair. I have suffered many things over the years that seemed unbearable. Whether it was the death of a loved one, broken relationships, or an illness that just couldn't be cured by human hands, I've learned that God is in control.

Psalm 23 tells us "He makes me lie down in green pastures and leads me beside still waters". "He prepares a table for me in the presence of my enemies". It would be wonderful if these words would spring to life immediately when trouble comes, but the truth is, it's a process.

One of the best ways to take up our shield of faith and the sword of the spirit is by reading the word of God. Many Christians live defeated lives because they don't read the bible. Reading God's word and meditating on it is how He communicates with us.

Prayer is such a privilege. When Jesus died on the cross the curtain in the temple was torn in 2 symbolizing God giving us direct access to Him. No longer are we required to send someone to God as a representative for us as the Israelites had to. We can now go boldly before His throne of grace.

I believe living our lives according to God's will and being obedient to Him is another step in getting closer to Him. He loves us unconditionally and His love endures forever. God requires obedience. He says "I desire obedience not sacrifice". If we abide in Him, He will abide in us.

Many of Gods chosen people in the Old Testament had turmoil and tragedy in their lives. They prayed and God didn't always give an immediate response according to their time table. Abraham wanted a child for many years before he was blessed with Isaac. Moses wanted deliverance for his people, but it did not happen overnight. And finally Job; I think we could all agree that his turmoil, loss, despair, and pain was more than most of us could endure.

If only our society in todays world would just trust in the Lord our God, what a difference this world would be. If only you could imagine! Through out our hardships in Life in whatever we face, HE is always there in the midst of us. With HIS hands open, the choice is ours. This article is an inspiration of Gods chosen words in which HE uses people like you to speak to people like us. Wonderful article!!

I know that it is very hard getting through trials and tribulations. I often have doubts and fears. But I know that all things work out for those who put their trust in the Lord. With God all things are possible.
