How to Accommodate Out of Town Wedding Guests

How you take care of visiting family members and friends during your wedding weekend will make a lasting impression on not only those involved, but also on anyone who may happen to hear of your graciousness (or lack thereof). Knowing exactly what out of town guests will need is not difficult. However, there are a few tricks and key tips to keep in mind should you desire to go above and beyond the usual roach motel accommodations.Obviously, sleeping arrangements must be made. No matter how much it may hurt your mother's feelings if your sister, her husband, their three children and their Saint Bernard don't stay with her during the festivities, make hotel arrangements for all visiting guests, no exceptions. While it may seem more cost effective to have guests shack up in your relatives' homes, this is no situation in which to cut costs. This will not only inconvenience those putting up the guests (no matter how much they insist that is does not), but it will also be an uncomfortable situation for the visitors. Traveling, especially with children, is hard enough without having to forgo one's privacy. Therefore, make arrangements for all guests at the best hotel that your budget can withstand. Keep in mind, however, that it is up to the guests themselves as to whether or not they wish to make use of the prearranged accommodations. Take no offense at a decision to do otherwise. Your role is to provide suitable hotel rooms that are conveniently located in respect to the wedding's location, not to suit every guest's whim or special lodging request.
