Pageview Study Part II - Forums and More!
Pageview Study part one showed the importance of keywords. Pageview Study part II is going to explore the possibilities of other kinds of promotional tools.
In particular, I was interested in looking at promotion in forums. This had worked wonders for me on one article in particular, this one, which I posted in two different heavy metal forums. This article earned over 1,000 pageviews in the first three weeks of publishing thanks
to that experiment, and is, of course, something that I was anxious to repeat.
Thus, I took an article about horse racing that I wrote a while back and posted them to horse racing forums. The results were OK, but nothing to really write home about, earning 90 pageviews in a week thanks to the effort. I also promoted part one of the pageview study in the AC forums, and that promotional effort earned the article 92 pageviews.
At the end of pageview study part one, I cited four different articles that I wrote which documented some of the different promotional methods that I used. These articles only earned 34 pageviews over four articles, which seems to state that referencing other articles doesn't help as much as we might imagine.
Finally, I decided to build upon the successes of pageview study part one, and try to write a keyword article without the help of software. The keyword I chose wasn't a super great keyword, but I certainly expected to see more than 18 pageviews for my effort, considering that the previous keyword articles, which I wrote with the help of Article Architect software scored nearly 500 pageviews each in the first two weeks.
