By first appearance the building seemed small and a bit un kept, I was quite the skeptic. Unenthusiastic I sucked it up and went inside, willing to at least give the place a try. To my surprise the interior was very nice and clean. The service also was extremely polite, it was an impressive beginning.
Their menu consisted of a variety of Chinese cuisine dishes such as; Sweet and Sour Chicken, Ribs in Hong Kong style, Portobello Mushrooms with Vegetables, and so much more. I decided to begin with an appetizer and would highly recommend the Wonton and Yin-Yang Soup, which I found very creative having the appearance of an actual Yin-Yang symbol.
I was a little hesitant to try the meat substitute dishes I had ordered, but to my surprise it was delicious! The quality of the food was top notch and the flavor was wonderful. All of the menu options are prepared fresh, the veggies were crisp and the meat substitute was delightful. With all of the wonderful choices offered, I would recommend bringing friends or family along and ordering a few different dishes to share.
Garden Cafe' has been featured in many local magazines and newspapers. People have traveled long distances to try the dishes offered. It is a place both Vegetarians and non-Vegetarians alike can enjoy. A great dinning experience for those looking to try something out of the norm. It is also a very healthy choice with most dishes containing soy bean and vegetables. In our society with all of the greasy high in fat foods, it is a refreshing escape.
