High School Seniors: Learn How to Run a Business Your First Year in College

If you're looking at colleges and are interested in learning how to run your own business, Babson College could be the place for you. In a recent press release, Kaplan/Newsweek annual college guide announced that it's the hottest school for business students in America. This isn't the first award Babson College has received. Located 30 minutes west of Boston with a student population of less than 4,000 for both graduate and undergraduate programs, Babson Collge is world reknown for it's business excellence.

Unlike other colleges, Babson College integrates all aspects of business into it each student's education. All students are requiredto take a course that runs over three semesters and teaches accounting, marketing, finance, management operations, organizational behavior, and economics.

Unlike other colleges or universities, they create teams of freshman students who create and run a business! These teams learn the realities of running a business first-hand as they start-up, run, and then liquidate a business, all during their first year.

Babson College even provides a $3,000 start-up loan to help their students with this venture!

Their goal? To make sure all students have the skills and experience needed to run a business and make good decisions. Experience in running their own business helps students learn first-hand the importance of every decision that a business makes.

The college also supports the spiritual side of life, offering services for those who are Buddhist, Islamic, Jewish, Protestant, and Roman Catholic on the college itself. Through their Heifer Project, animals and training are given to hungry families around the world. The goal is to offer support for poor communities and train them to care for animals and crops. Every family that gets an animal through the organization agrees to give away the female's first offspring to another family in need in their community.
