I started using Fat-Free Parkay Spray Butter about a year and a half ago, and I have to say that I'm glad that I did. I am a vegetarian, but not a vegan, so I do consume some dairy products. However, I am also concerned about eating healthy, and I prefer foods that are low in fat and calories. For this reason, I have never been big on butter, and the fat-free brands that I have sampled are not very tasty.

When I first tried the Parkay Spray, I was pleasantly surprised. It was really good! The Parkay Spray has no fat, saturated fat, or trans fat. It also has no cholesterol and no calories either. When I sprayed the butter, I noticed that texture of the butter was not too thick and not too thin, but had a nice even consistency. It also has a real butter taste. It's not exactly like butter, but it's definitely tastier and more authentic than the other fat free butters on the market that either spray too thick or taste nothing like butter.

When you spray the Parkay, one spray is not enough to cover an entire piece of toast. However, the serving size on the bottle is five sprays as a topping and five sprays is definitely sufficient. Your bread will not be completely saturated as it might be with spreadable butter, but then again, your arteries are not clogging up either.

The Parkay Spray is great to use on vegetables. The serving size on the bottle is one spray for cooking, but I think that you need at least two to give your food any kind of flavor. The Parkay Spray is also great for making grilled sandwiches too because you can spray the bread evenly before cooking and it doesn't tear the bread as stick butter does when you spread it on a piece of bread. Parkay Spray just gives the bread a nice light dusting that is perfect for grilling.

My husband only uses regular butter and I have never been able to get him to try anything low fat, let alone fat free. Lately, I notice that he is actually using the Parkay Spray when he cooks. So if a die hard butter fan will use it, then it must be good!

If you enjoy butter, but would like to try something with zero-fat or calories, then I highly recommend trying the Fat-Free Parkay Spray butter. It tastes great ,and it's healthier for you.

UGH. I had a feeling this was too good to be true. No wonder my diet has not been working.

I actually called the company today regarding this product and this question. They would NOT tell me the calorie count and said that they only suggest using it in the spray form. I am dieting and was wondering about replacing it for butter in recipes, however....the company does not suggest that you consume it in this way, and.... after further research today, I am guessing that one bottle has about 900 calories! YIKES!! It is great for 5 or less sprays, but in recipes, use applesauce or pureed prunes instead as a relacement for butter. Now I know why my 'under 1,000 calories a day diet ' was shot this week.....ughh!! Learn from my mistake!!!

Well, although it probably does have some amount of calories after so many sprays, on the bottle it says 5 sprays is zero calories. Which means under 5 calories. But either way, the serving size is either 1 or 5 so don't say it's only for 1 spray. 5 sprays is still under 5 calories, and that's amazing for butter.

I absolutely agree with you. The spray form allows me to use much less butter than I would normally use if I put regular butter on my food. Like I said, I use five to ten sprays per serving, not half of the bottle.

How is this an excellant review? The reviewer is basically saying that this product doesn't taste bad, like usual fat-free or lite products....They prefer foods that don't clog arteries, or are low-fat. WELL - this product is 100% fat - and it is, basically, the full fat, regular butter. It's just put into a spray form. I called the company, and asked how they can say "Zero calories" with the stated ingredients, and they said that the government allows them to "ignore what they call "Trivial" amounts of fat and calories, - that is - anything under 5 calories. THIS is why the serving size is one spray - so they can get away with LYING about the fat and calories - because they need the serving size to fit into the "trivial" amount. .....SO - if you use this spray butter - and use less than you would with regular butter - fine. But don't kid yourself that it's low fat, and that it's not counting towards your arteries... because it's 100% fat.

I agree that there are still calories and fat, but the serving size on the bottle says 5 sprays is 0 calories and fat. As long as you don't spray half of the bottle on your toast, I think it's okay.

Beware that the 0 calories applies to 1 spray. The calories are still there (honestly how could anybody get by with one spray?) its just reduced greatly... read the ingredients, those thing in it have calories, and fat.
