Vulnerable me, my lean is to you,
Reliant guide-on, I slant to your face.
Stand fast over the buoyant gaze of my love,
For when you waver,
   I shiver,
When still,
   I rely.
I require thus for this thirst,
So stay unweary, and migrate none,
Your weathering seasons, I will follow
Unless the light departs or I am grown over.
Death be not worse than that dreaded
Eclipse of my view to you.
No light but yours will feed my stare,
Yet if my fatal day arrives
Naively I’d wait, my life breath agonal
   Starving on hope alone,
   Consuming myself until emaciated,
Naked to victual hunger even when
Prone in the dust, unable to lean anywhere
   But down.
