After seeing several commercials about aspirin helping save lives in the event of a heart attack, I decided to see what other good uses aspirin might have. Therefore, I crushed up some tablets in some warm water and started painting the town red, well, crusting my house with white aspirin paste at least. These are some things that I found the aspirin paste worked pretty well on. Rust stains. I accidentally left a safety pin on the bathroom counter and it rusted in its hiding spot behind the soap. I put the aspirin paste on it for about two minutes and then wiped it up with some toilet paper. It came right off.
Soap scum. My aspirin paste took the soap scum off of my shower door pretty well, but I will probably just keep using my foaming cleanser. It was too much work to crush the aspirin to use it on something as big as the shower door. That's a lot of aspirin.
Pink tub ring. Wow all of this makes my bathroom sound really dirty. I did have a pink tub ring though and the aspirin worked really well on it. I left the paste on for about 20 minutes though so I had to make it pretty thick for it to stick on the walls of the bathtub.
Yellowing wallpaper. The wallpaper in my house is 20 years old and the aspirin didn't do too bad at lightening the color. I was pretty impressed with that.
Tablecloth stains. Just rub some paste into the stain then leave the tablecloth soaking in warm water for about 20 minutes then wash as usual.
Sweat stains. I was told that aspirin works pretty well on sweat stains but I didn't have any sweat stained clothes to try it on. I did try grass stains and that didn't work very well.
Car battery corrosion. Ok, what doesn't work on battery acid? Even cola works on that. I wasn't surprised about the aspirin but I'm pretty sure just plain water would work too.
Cut flowers. I put a tablet in the water with some flowers and it seemed to keep them pretty nice. I will probably stick with putting them in the fridge at night to preserve them though.
Acne. Aspirin paste on a red pimple will take some of the red out and take some of the pain away. Leave it on for a few minutes then wash it off.
