Stream Your Media with D-Link's Wireless HD Player

I understand the fact that I am a media junkie and a gadget addict. I have come to terms with my issues but I can't help but look for the newest electronic device that will make life easier. Lately, I have grown a little fond of streaming media files on my home network. Being able to download one of my favorite movies or television shows and then stream it to my living room is an easy task to do. With all the available streaming media players on the market, D-Link has introduced their own version.

The D-Link DSM-520 Wireless HD player has an awesome sound quality. One of the best features of this device is that it not only has the capability to stream music files from subscription services such as Napster, but it will also stream audio from Live 365, Rhapsody, and even AOL Live. There is a free sample version of Live365 if you are not familiar with the service and would like to try it out. Despite the wide variety of music sources it can stream audio from, iTunes is not one of them. So, if you have a vast iTunes music collection, then this is not the device for you.

The D-Link unit also has video capabilities. The device does not display video in the best way. Some of them look a little choppy and blurry. If you have HD videos to stream, then the picture quality is displayed a little better than the standard ones. Don't expect this device to present your videos in the best quality possible. There are other devices that you may want to purchase instead of this one, if your main use is for video streaming.

Setting up the WiFi was extremely easy to do and took a short time to complete. You are able to setup the WiFi using a password with a simple interface or a remote control phone pad. If you don't want to go through these options for setting up the WiFi, then you are able to set up the network with a flash drive prepared on Microsoft Window's wireless network setup wizard.
