There are 365 acupoints on the human body, and one of the best ways to find those in need is to get involved with yourself and literally take a hand, or finger, in your own health. Once you've become involved, you'll find that one of life's great adventures is living and not just existing.

In Russian folk medicine they use a lot of "Russian penicillin", we know it as garlic. Garlic is used the world over for purifying and thinning the blood. Russian folk information says raw is better than cooked and not to chew it, just pop a clove in the mouth and swallow it with a glass of water. Other information agrees that raw is best but says garlic has to be masticated or cut, in order to release the active ingredients, use your discretion. Another Russian remedy says to fill a glass bottle (never use metal containers when making herbal extractions) with finely chopped garlic and fill to the brim with vodka. Allow mixture to stand in a warm place for at least two weeks. Start with two drops in warm water before the evening meal and increase the dose by one drop each successive day until twenty-five drops is reached. Taper off using one drop less per day until reaching zero. Take a break for at least a month.

Garlic and raw onion are used as a remedy for blood clots and lowering blood pressure the world over. Chewing fresh celery root or fresh parsley will help eliminate bad breath. Another Russian remedy is the juice of one half lemon and one half orange taken in a glass of warm water every day before breakfast or the juice of a whole lemon can be substituted. An old German remedy is a strong St. John's Wort tea with a small amount of aloe added.
