With camping season upon us, many people are searching the Internet to find the best places to camp in Western Montana. The truth is, there are hundreds of excellent off the road spots that people can camp at throughout Western Montana. Western Montana Camping Site Number One: Salmon Lake Overnight Campsite

If you are driving from Missoula to Salmon Lake the second State Park that you come to on the Left will be the Lake’s overnight campsite. This site not only provides campers number campsites that they can pitch a tent, sleep under the stars, park a camper, or pull in their RV, it also offers number of creature comforts. This site offers potable water, pay showers, and toilet facilities. It also offers a hiking trail that leads down to a great fishing spot next to an old beaver dam, as well as a boat launch, and area for swimming and sun bathing. Western Montana Camping Site Number Two: St. Mary's/East Glacier KOA

There are dozens of KOA campground located throughout the state of Montana. These campsites offer Rv’ers the utilities and amenities that make the RV lifestyle so appealing. This park is open May 1 through September 30. They offer one room and two room Kabins, as well as Deluxe Kottages. If you have an RV they are able to accommodate RVs up to 70 feet in length, and they offer 50 Amp service.
