Okay, for all of you "Sex and the City" fans out there, looks as if there is going to be a movie for the Original HBO series. And guys stop frontin'; I know you watched it, that's why you're reading this post!

And this is no half-done television to silver screen popularity contest. The show's entire ensemble cast is signed up to do the movie, and so "No," Jennifer Hudson is not replacing anybody. They are bringing her on in addition to the Fantastic Four of the original series, and she will play character Carrie Bradshaw's assistant. Thereby suggesting that Carrie Bradshaw has come on the up and up and probably has something going on in contrast to her penny pinching days from the majority of series run.

But to revisit the show, I remember watching it well before I should have, and well before it caught on. I was still at the end of my 8th grade year, a male and probably fairly immature. The show was getting that much traction, in fact, it was paired with "Arli$$," a successful show, but never did it achieve "Sex and the City" status. But being in only 8th grade, of course I only watched the show for its sex scenes, the other 25 minutes of show was like mindless babble to me.

However, as I grew, the actual plot of show grew on me. And by the time I was in college, I was a big fan. But it was not until college that I experienced the fervor of the show. Watching it as a high schooler and captain of the football team, this show was not exactly a topic of conversation among me, my friends and my teammates. When I got to college for the first time, all of the young college ladies were scurrying off to their student lounges every Sunday night to watch "Sex and the City." The show was like sex for them, especially since I went to college in New York City. And believe me, any young lady who graduated from a New York City college between the years of 2002 and 2006 and claims they did not in some way try to mimic Sarah Jessica Parker's character, Carrie Bradshaw, they are either lying or had no interest in popular culture at all!
