Belief is a simple little word really but the controversy that has surrounded the concept of belief has gone on down through the ages. How does your beliefs affect your life? The mind and brain are very powerful mechanisms. Although we continue to learn about it we still can't claim to know how the brain works. There is also some controversy over whether the mind and brain are one and the same entity or rather two different ones. The debate over this issue still continues among scholars, philosophers, scientists and medical professionals yet many believe that they are not one and the same. Our brains are physical mechanisms that have been likened to computers with our thoughts or belief systems being the software that is programmed into our human computers. The physical brain ceases to function at death whereas the mind is thought to be a separate entity that survives physical death and exists beyond time and space. All in all, it is definitely food for thought and much thinking about the brain and mind is ongoing.

The brain is an interesting organ having two hemispheres. This has prompted some to ask the question of whether we actually have one brain or two. We have one brain with a right and left hemisphere. Albeit somewhat strange the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body and vice versa. Each hemisphere dominates certain behaviors. The left side of the brain is believed to be the logical, analytical brain while the right side is thought to be the home of creative talents as well as possible paranormal abilities such as mental telepathy.
